![]() Don’t count on any 1911 parts being “drop in”. Just make sure you safety check it after these mods. If you’re handy you can watch some vids and adjust the pretravel, overtravel and the sear spring yourself. I adjusted the sear spring and got it a bit lower. The Kimber trigger was heavy with a little creep. I have a DW Pointman 9 as well as a new Kimber KHX OR 9mm. That being said, would you suggest buying a "drop in" trigger and hoping it doesnt need to be fitted, or taking it in for a trigger job (or both)? Or is there maybe some sort of "poor man's" trigger job or something I might be able to do myself? I've done minor work on my other guns and triggers but never a 1911.Ĭongrats on your new shooter. I'm not incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to 1911s and, while I definately want to progress and learn, I dont want to get too deep and make a dangerous and/or expensive mistake. ![]() ![]() I would like it to be a little lighter (it's not a carry gun - range only) and I would like a little less pretravel. But I was wondering if anyone had some advice about the trigger. Maybe one day I will be able to afford a valor or discretion, but for now it's the kimber aegis elite custom. So, contrary to my previous decision that some of you may have contributed to, I decided to buy a kimber instead of a Dan Weston due to financial restrictions.
